- CD Projekt believes in its customer. The gamer is someone they can believe in. Their medium causes emotions in people, making it a form of art. Those emotions contribute to a long-term relationship between customer and company.
- It’s difficult to make RPGs, but there are benefits from it, like lower competition because few companies work on that genre.
- Focusing on RPG helps gathering expertise on the long run, as opposed to jumping from one genre to the other.
- The folks at CD Projekt respect gamers, and know they expect the best. They want to meet their expectations and exceed them.
- Gamers don’t passively consume the product without thinking. The formula of packaging elements that sell like violence and sex by itself doesn’t work. Gamers draw conclusions, analyze what they see and hear, and look forward to what is coming next for the game, also tying it with who delivers the game. It’s a partnership-based relationship.
- CD Projekt has “covenant” with each and every customer, based on what is in the box. It’s not just marketing talk. It’s the philosophy behind all three witcher games.
- CD Projekt RED wants to make games that get at least a 90 out of 100. The user rating forThe Witcher 3 on Metacritic is 92, the critic rating is 91 for XBox One, 92 for PS4 and 94 for PC.
- The budget of the game is 306 million Polysh Zlot ($81,168,186).
- The development team includes 250 people, but 1,500 people were involved globally.
- 500 voice actors were involved for all the seven languages.
- 40 different marketing campaigns were run in paralel.
- 6 million copies were sold in six week, helping to geterate a first net profit in the first half of 2015 of 236 million Polish Zloty ($62,600,300), most of which from The Witcher 3.
